Little Apple Adventurers
Starting school is an exciting milestone — and we’re here to help make the transition smooth and confident for our future Foundation students.
Our PREParation Program, is designed to support children as they prepare for the big step into school life. This weekly program complements our traditional transition sessions by focusing on building key skills through fun, interactive sessions.
What Students Will Learn
In our sessions, children will:
- Familiarize themselves with the classroom and playground
- Practice communication skills such as chatting and understanding questions
- Manage personal belongings independently
- Learn school rules, daily schedules, and transitions
- Develop self-help and fine motor skills like putting on coats, using scissors, and holding pencils correctly
- Build emotional readiness, confidence, and coping strategies for new situations
- Enhance physical development with gross motor activities such as running, jumping, and climbing
- Understand basic hygiene practices and healthy habits
Who Can Join?
This program is open to children who:
- Are enrolled or have submitted an application for Foundation at Darley Primary School
- Are fully toilet trained
Session Times:
- Wednesdays during Term 3 (Additional days may be added depending on demand)

Group Size:
Maximum 20 students per session

Every student who participates will receive their very own Darley Primary School T-shirt — a special way to feel part of our school community!
Additional Information
Please note this program is offered in addition to our traditional transition activities to provide extra support and fun as children prepare for their school journey.
