Enrolment Process
 State-wide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The Department of Education (DE) state-wide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Darley Primary School
The new timeline will apply for children starting Foundation (Prep) in 2027. All government primary schools will follow this timeline in 2026 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2027 school year.

You can find information and resources about the enrolment timeline, including factsheets, at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep). You can also download the ‘Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers for the 2027 school year’ from the Starting School webpage (available from Thursday 2nd April 2026).
You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Darley Primary School from Monday 20th April 2026.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our office to book a school tour (see available tour dates below) or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) available from Thursday 2nd April 2026.
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 31st July 2026.  (See below for application form)
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 14th August 2026.
  5. If you receive an offer of placement, you should return your completed enrolment form to the school to by Friday 28th August 2026.
  6. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after 31st July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

    Foundation Transition Programs

    Little Apple Adventurers

    Our PREParation Program is thoughtfully designed to support children as they take the important step into school life. This weekly program complements our traditional transition sessions by focusing on building essential skills through fun, interactive activities.

      Teddy Bears Picnic

      These relaxed, optional sessions are a gentle introduction to our school community and a wonderful opportunity for your child to feel welcomed and included. Children and their favourite teddies are invited to enjoy a fun and friendly story session with our Foundation students!
